12 week vet check

Since I'm in a little bit of a hurry I'll hit the high spots of Gunther's 12 week vet checkup. WONDERFUL. Everyone was happy to see him and a couple of the vet assistance that didn't see him before got to see him. They were also really excited that he was "one of the 14."

Gunther is 30 pounds and his legs are good and straight and he got a clean bill of health from Dr. Starr. So I am pretty happy. He behaved so well and even sat on command for Dr. Starr, with all kinds of distractions going on around him. The Gun-man is such a lady-killer. He responds to all of that attention like a sponge.

Well I'm out of here. Off to run around town doing "mom things"

Have a wonderful evening!

Gunther's Portrait

Today I was suppose to take Gunther for his vet appointment. I reschedule it till Thursday at 10:30, because my daughter is pretty ill. I've been up with her all night and have a call in to her doctor. She's got a really high fever (102) and all the other great things that go with it. Through out the night she would sleep for about 30 minutes then wake up sick, during one of those nap times I played around with a picture of the Gun-man and I think it turned out pretty good. To actually see the texture of the picture you may have to click on the photo to enlarge it.

My Birthday and Gunther

Today was my birthday. And of course helping with the entertainment was Gunther. He was right in the middle of everything. While I was opening some presents he got into the dirty clothes as you can see in the background. Once he had my UNDIVIDED attention again, my son placed the bows on his head. What was funny is Gunther settled right down, and posed for the camera. So here is my little clown.

By the way, my kids being the funny children that they are gave me a Scooby Do birthday. I had everything from balloons to napkins, even the candle on the cake was an adorable little Scooby. LOL.

11 Weeks

What a royal little boy! Well this little boy is keeping my family laughing. It's a complete joy to watch him grow and discover his new world, now with that being said, you know that the laughs are at his expense. LOL.

Over the past week I've noticed that Gun taps his front feet, sometimes he goes back and forth shifting his weight between his front legs and sometimes he looks like he's counting with his right paw. You know, how they teach horses for count for circus entertainment. At first I didn't think much of it, then last night about 4 in the morning I hear this rhythm from his crate. He is tap dancing. Now, I knew he was smart, and I knew he catches on pretty fast, but tap dancing was more than I expected. Of course the tail is wagging so fast it looks like it's going to fly off his butt, it's the cutest damn thing. So I asked him what he was doing and he looked down at his legs and back at me and then started tapping again. Like he really knows what he's doing. Ok that got me laughing. Well a little while ago I was playing with him and I was petting on him and rubbing his front legs and I told him he had beautiful legs and he went to a sit position and held his right leg out to me. He's too cute, I love him to death. Clearly he is very proud of those stilts he calls legs. ROTFL.

Have a great day!

The Shower Story

Since Gunther is growing pretty quickly, he no longer fits in any of the sinks I have to bath him in, so a week or so back I bathed him in the shower. He had the best time. It was so funny. I thought he would be afraid of the water, oh no, his favorite part was standing there getting the Shower Massage on his back. Anyway, the other morning we got up, took him out, fed him and I put him back in his crate so I could go shower. I must not have latched the door well because while I was showering I heard this thud on the door and as the door flew open here come Gunther, legs and ears going everywhere full speed into the shower with me. ROFL. I laughed till my sides hurt. Then once he got in there he sat down and tried to catch the water on his tongue like we would snow flakes. It was a riot. I couldn't correct him, because it was just too damn funny.

I'm so glad that he is in my home. He brings so much fun into the house and spontaneous laughter.

Laugh a lot, try to smile all the time,

Gunther and his blanket

Yesterday I had all the intentions in the world to wash Gunther's blanket but because of other issues in the house I didn't get to it. So he slept in his crate with a beach towel and a couple of chew toys. Well this morning while I was fixing his bowl of food, I couldn't find him, but noticed the door to my laundry room was open, about that same time I heard him whining. Carefully I looked in because I wanted see what he was up to without disrupting him. Well, he had found his blanket and climbed up on the laundry basket with the blanket and laid down. Here is one of the pictures I took of the cute moment. Needless to say he has his blanket all ready for tonight. LOL. What a baby.

My TV Buddy

We have noticed since Gunther came into our home that he actually likes to watch TV. What he doesn't like is the loud noises. We have a HUGE TV and so I'm sure at his puppy size, the people look "real." Well, we were watching something and a gun sound was made. He dropped down to the floor, looked around and then came running full tilt to me. Once he got up in my lap he was ok. We of course laughed till tears ran down our faces. He is still such a little boy.

9 weeks all ready

The Gun-Man went to the vet this morning. He is doing great. He's a little over 18 pounds. (my little pony). But we had a wonderful time at the vets office. When we were waiting to go in, another Dane was coming out, and we talked with Murdock's owner for quiet awhile. Murdock is a 3 month old Brindle Great Dane and it was so much fun watching him and Gunther play. They do some of the same things. It was really cute. Murdock is their second Dane.

Dr. Starr, Gunther's vet, just loved him, and since we go to the same vet as Gunther's parents of course everyone there, the other vets and assistants were thrilled to get to see "1 of the 14" puppies grow up. They couldn't say enough nice things about Gunther's parents and Jay the breeder.

When we got home Gun was wiped out. He napped for a good 2 hours straight. LOL. But, it's feeding time so I'm out of here. Have a good one,
